We are very pleased to announce the return of our very popular charity quiz night for 2024, this time to help raise funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and the ‘Dementia Friends’ programme, run by Alzheimer’s UK.
The charity quiz night is being held on Sunday 14th April 2024 at Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre (Twelve Acre Approach, Kesgrave, Ipswich IP5 1JF), with a start time of 7.00pm. Teams can include between 4 – 6 members and entry is £6 per person.
On the night there will be a licenced bar, big screen displaying all of the questions, and plenty of prizes to be won during the quiz itself and as part of a big raffle, thanks to the generous support from local businesses.
Matthew Coward, Director for All About Hearing said “We are very excited to be bringing back our charity quiz nights for 2024. If you’ve been to one in the past, you’ll know they have always been fantastic evenings, full of fun, frivolity, and healthy competition.
“We urge you to pull your friends and family together, round up a group of your colleagues at work or even come along with a local group or organisation that you are a member of. We really need your support to help raise money for these fantastic causes!”
All of our previous events have sold out quickly. To secure your tickets please click here.
About our charities
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a UK charity with a heart-warming mission. Founded in 1982, they work to improve the lives of deaf people by training dogs to become their loyal companions and "ears." These specially trained canine partners alert their human counterparts to important sounds like smoke alarms, doorbells, and even crying babies, increasing independence and safety.
Going beyond just practical assistance, the charity recognises the emotional toll that deafness can have. Their dogs provide much-needed companionship, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness. They offer different dog types to best suit individual needs.
Fully accredited hearing dogs have full public access rights, perfect for those who constantly rely on sound alerts. Sound support dogs provide in-home assistance, while confidence and companion dogs offer emotional support for those who don't necessarily require sound alerts but would benefit from a furry friend.
Alzheimer's Society (Dementia Friends Programme)
Alzheimer's Society, a leading UK charity, is tackling dementia with a unique approach: empathy and understanding. Their Dementia Friends programme is the largest initiative of its kind, aiming to transform how society views and interacts with those living with dementia.
The program is open to everyone. By attending an information session or watching online videos, individuals gain valuable insights into dementia. They learn about the different ways the condition manifests, the challenges faced by those living with it, and most importantly, how to be supportive.
Alzheimer's Society believes that creating a dementia-friendly society benefits everyone. When communities are equipped with knowledge and empathy, people with dementia can live more fulfilling lives, feeling included and valued.
